Well, it looked like we
passed April and didn’t get too much put into it. We’re going to include here the rest of the
paper that we’d written since we last made notes. The paper is now over as is the class. This is the final words the teacher shared
with us. It’s pretty complimentary.
Ann, thank you so much for all your
hard work in this course. You have been such a wonderful peer to help us all
understand better what people with challenges have to deal with. I find your
paper very, very interesting (it is actually the first student paper from Jones
that I have downloaded and want to save and re-read. It is so intelligent and
analytical in its composition. You refer to theory, and show an incredible
understanding of your situation. More than that, you have a wonderful ability
to write, and communicate this very complicated issue so we at least have a
chance at understanding some of what you live with every day. I have learned so
much. This plan is very well organized and written, and your analysis is well
justified and show a great level of analytic ability. Most of all, I wish you -
or should I say all of you - good luck in the future. I sincerely hope that
this class has helped with the analysis of the situation.
Thanks :)
Mona
Final Strategy Statement carried forward to the Strategic Plan
(based on Worksheet 27) (Assignment 4.2)
Mimi’s Dragon will incorporate each of the issues as the
writer checks in on the progress of the goals and strategies outlined above and
in living day-to-day. The work will be
published at the completion of her Master’s degree. The purpose of the project is to present as a
multiple in a non-traumatizing manner to give insight on the differences of
thinking processes and that processes given are more abled than disabled. Hopefully, the project will become one in a
series of books that chart over a long period of time the development of a
person who happens to have multiplicity and that in doing so it will belay some
of the criticisms given toward the diagnosis and therapeutic results. The ultimate goals for this system are to
finish the book, finish the degree and for the system to have a very productive
year. There will be performance indicators such as writing most days, finishing
homework assignments, taking care of the “doables,” and becoming more
physically fit and active.
The theory behind the project is to be as honest and real
as is possible in bridging the differences of the internal and external
lives. There is no goal to integrate as
one person rather than as a multiple, but there is a set need to understand and
challenge more actively the core part of our personalities, so that there is
more order and reliability, especially as the system continues to pursue
loftier goals of a doctorate degree.
The principle components
of the project is for Annemarie and the parts to check in daily with the
dashboard, write nearly daily to Mimi’s Dragon, and then begin the editing
process for the content tags. The Google
search will be formatted to fit an Access data bases and while this is
happening, the system has to progress in getting itself to places where it can
interact externally and with others who are external. Items such as schoolwork, housework and being
out on events particularly with Rich are hoped to become more prevalently
routine.
The system has the
capabilities it needs and it is determined to progress. The goals and expectations are reasonable and
established both as short- and long-term.
The system in general is very systematic and analytical which will be
seen as assets as the information gathered is incorporated through the writing
of the book. It is hoped that through
this effort and others like it that the public will be well-served. In general, the system is good natured and
has excellent support systems. The project should last between the time frame
of February 22, 2012 and June 30, 2013.
Each two month period as the courses at JIU change the emphasis into the
project will also change and develop.
Resources and Changes in the Organization (Assignment 4.2)
There will not be many resources required other than
time, patience and good will. At the end
of the project the system will need to develop a means to publish the book, but
it has published before and understands that it can be done again for
$1500-2500, which is a reasonable sum to earn over the course of greater than a
year. The computer and software
necessary for writing is in excellent shape and people to interact with are
plentiful. There are additional costs in
just living without working at an external job, but these needs are being cared
for through a supplemental income and school loan. Most likely there won’t be much gathered for
savings with the project. Expenses
should be covered and the book when completed will not be thought to make a
huge sum of money because the cause of the book belongs to a small audience and
there is much competition for books that float toward psychological
biographies.
Most rules, policies changes required are internal with
the exception for the hard deadlines like bills, assignments, psychiatry
sessions and doctor appointments, and a weight loss goal to lose 2-3 pounds a
week for 20 weeks until the system plans to travel out of the country. There is also one more rule internally
attached and that is to follow as best the system can toward its established
support roles with people close to the system.
The project is flexible
enough so that changes can be made as the project is being worked out over
time, and it is hoped that it will change as new scholarly pursuits become
available. There is always a discrepancy
between what is happening and what one wishes to happen so it becomes necessary
to realign the direction frequently to keep on the track one destines to be
on. There should also be points of
summary like at the end of each two month period when major papers or projects
are handed in for evaluation. There is
also a natural summary point in the turning of one month to another. Each month represents its own chapter in
Mimi’s Dragon. And, there are smaller
weekly summaries with some of the courses.
There is some associated risk in writing in that the
person writing is exposed to a larger audience he or she does not control. Most of this is handled by maintaining boundaries
that are healthy for the system. It
doesn’t seem to matter much if people know common things like weight, or
activities, or even if we are having the love life of our natural calling. The writer has been using a blog for almost
ten years and so the transference of information in a social network seems
second nature and is part of being in a society that is socially saturated with
media exposure.
There also seems to be
an unwritten rule with multiples who write.
There is always the thought – could you help someone else? And, in this case it seems to be true. Good information that is more accurate would
assist in clarifying what is and isn’t real about multiplicity. And, in the process it allows the
writer/thinker to grow in skill and ability while learning and teaching which
seems to be the most important attributes of her life. There is always going to
be love, but there is no problem in loving what one does and the writing for
this project seems to fit hand and glove to this life-long series of goals.
Key Performance Indicators (Assignment 5.2)
“Key performance
indicators also known as KPI or Key Success Indicators (KSI) help an
organization define and measure progress toward organizational goals (About,
Inc., 2005)

Definition
|
Current Measure of the KPI
|
Desirable Measurable Goal
|
Issue
#1 – A lot of external feedback we have monitored from the environment seems
to be based on the question, “Is multiplicity real?” How do we address that?
|
#1
- People considering multiplicity as real, unreal, or unsure
|
People
(links) will be those chosen by the Google spider under the directive to look
for news, blogs, and webs connected to multiplicity and their site links will
indicate the opinion if multiplicity is to be believed
|
None
|
Survey
an online search on multiplicity to determine a number of people between the
present date and December, 2010 linked
by the Google spider as to their consideration of multiplicity as real,
unreal, or if they were unsure
|
#2
- Pros and cons
|
People
connected through the above Google Spider Search will list what their doubts
and beliefs are regarding multiplicity – categorize and count the numerous
points of logic
|
none
|
Survey
the same online search on multiplicity under the same time frame as above to
determine what the respondents frame of reference is as to the pros and cons
of multiplicity qualitatively and
quantitatively to determine bias
|
|
Issue
#2 – How will we develop the stamina, courage and tolerance of accepting
things better from the external world (outside our minds to include
physical)?
|
#3
- Checklist
|
Make
a daily checklist and include questions of did we go outside the apartment?
Have we exercised or completed physical housework? And have we lost weight?
|
General
reminders of we “should” do these things whether we do them or not and weigh
ourselves once each morning – and charting the weight only once a week on
Wednesday mornings
|
Utilize
Dashboard Activity Chart for one year and note one point for either yes or no
if each of the three tasks were completed daily (calculate monthly and try to
improve or maintain 80% or better each month)
|
#4
- Coping
|
Note
as many examples as are possible of mentally coping while noting no more than
one of each method in any given week
|
We
haven’t done this before other than an occasional note at Dr. Marvin’s office
of us coping
|
Utilize
Dashboard Coping Skills chart and note for each week for one year how many
coping skills we used to emotionally handle an otherwise lack of tolerance
particularly in our outside world
|
|
Issue
#3 – If it is apparent, and it is, that Annemarie has significant influence
on our system (and Mimi’s Dragon), how can we better know and identify her?
|
#5
- Questions/Decisions by Annemarie
|
Annemarie
is going to be asked to weigh in on decisions by each day being asked at
least two questions so that she is given the opportunity to be recognizably
included and encouraged to make decisions
|
Just
waiting for her to acknowledge herself – she hadn’t been asked previously
questions
|
Utilize
Dashboard Questions for Annemarie to ask at least two questions a day for one
year (similar to the
“I Ching”) – respond yes or no |
#6
- Mimi’s Dragon
|
Annemarie
will be asked each time we sit down to write in Mimi’s Dragon if she would
like to include something of her thoughts
|
We
believe she writes, but it is not known, because she’s stayed so well hidden
|
Ask
at least every 2-3 days when sitting down to write, if Annemarie would like
to include something in Mimi’s Dragon – respond yes or no
|
|
Issue
#4 – How do we as parts, assist Annemarie in dealing with or negotiating with
the system’s harder emotions without overburdening her (overwhelm and/or
discourage)?
|
#7
- Breakdown
|
Chart
in Mimi’s Dragon the times during the day that there were emotional
breakdowns which necessitated another part taking over
|
Usually
Rich hears the breakdowns though we’ll now ask him to remind us to write it
down
|
After
an emotional breakdown occurs and then calms, use the Dragon to write down
what happened and the probability of why it happened and how it was resolved
for at least 80% of the occurrences
|
#8
- Feeling Survey
|
Annemarie
and whomever she may choose for company can update the feeling chart using
emoticons at any time of the day she recognizes important emotions taking
place
|
Sometimes
it has been easier to see Annemarie only when the system has become very
depressed, it is hoped a newer system will catch good moods too
|
Annemarie
will by herself or with one or more of her parts make at least 5 entries into
the daily “Feeling Chart” using animated emoticons so that what she senses
through her feelings can be known prior to her becoming overwhelmed or
discouraged – response yes or no
|
“…If
a [strategic plan] is viewed as an ongoing process in which individuals are
engaged in the continual improvement journey, the plan will become the road map
to follow (and modify as the environment changes) to successfully achieve its
goals” (Spicer & DeBlois and the EDUCAUSE Current Issues Committee, 2004).
Leadership Analysis (Assignment 6.2)
“Leadership: the
inspiration and mobilization of others to undertake collective action in
pursuit of the common good” (Bryson, Anderson, & Alston, 2011, p.
287). Leadership in the project of
Mimi’s Dragon followed a format of Chief Executive (1 member), Manager of
Program Managers (1 member), Program Managers (3 members), Project Managers (8
members), and Staff (22 members). The
three portfolios were divided as to the (A) SPCC – Majors, (B) SPCC – Minor,
and (C) SPT & I-Team. Primarily the
age-oldest parts take more leadership roles and each of the tasks is named as
to the parts/core ability to take on their assigned project complexity.
Programs are the #1 Google Search, #2 Dashboard, and #3 Book.

Plan for Monitoring, Re-assessing and Revising Strategic Plan and
Monitoring Re-assessing and Revising the Planning Process (SEE ATTACHMENT C)
There are two charts that we will utilize in the planning
process. They can be found in Attachment
C (Bryson, Anderson, & Alston, p. 269, pp. 276-278). The first form covers the monitoring,
re-assessing and revising strategic plans.
It gives us the visual to be adding strategy, strengths, weaknesses,
modification that would improve the strategy and asks us to check whether we
would like to maintain, replace or revise, or terminate the strategy. All parts of the plan will be completed
December 2010 through June 2013, but because the time frame is so long, we will
have our program managers meeting at monthly meetings (First Friday). Jamie will be leading the meeting with her
Henry and Lissa to work on aspects of the Google Search, Ann will be leading
the meeting with KC, Casey, Sarah, and Kelsey for the Dashboard and Ayn will be
leading the meeting with Corey, Marie and Anniemi to discuss aspects of the
book Mimi’s Dragon. Kate the manager of
the program managers will meet the program managers Jamie, Ann, and Ayn on the
15th of the month, and the first Friday after the project
meetings. At Kate’s 15th
meeting she will include for group work for monitoring, re-assessing and
revising strategic plans. Jesse and Kate will meet every Friday and circulate
through the other meetings to problem solve. Jesse has ultimate responsibility
for all meetings and Annemarie will be included at each of the meetings.
At the first week of
July and the first week of January, there will be meetings between the program
managers and the project managers, and the program managers with the manager of
the program managers and the Chief Executive Jesse to go over monitoring,
re-assessing and revising the planning process (See Attachment C). The parts of this planning process contain
the elements of the process, strengths, weaknesses, modifications that would
improve the plan, key lessons learned and are summarized to either maintain or
replace/revise the program plan. As much
as possible this should be a group consensus, but again Jessie has the final
word on all parts of the planning process.
The last aspect of the strategy planning process is that
each of the nine project managers has the responsibility of checking in with
each of the committees or teams. The
SPCC-Executive committee will meet each Tuesday, SPCC-major and the SPCC-minor
teams will meet on Thursdays, and the SPT and I-team will meet on Sundays. It is up to the project managers to check in
with these groups so as to learn how the system is working with the project as
a whole. It is also expected that the
partners work together when at all necessary.
Primarily the younger parts are paired with older parts and we are
hoping within the system this gives more exposure to the younger parts so that
they can add input, particularly emotional attributes.
In summary, the strategy plan has included many features,
and it is probably stranger to read from the perspective of an outsider to a
multiple system. But, it is hoped that
in writing the strategy that we as a system can achieve better order and
communication between our core part Annemarie and the 18 alters and it is hoped
that in understanding better the processes of being resourceful, reading,
writing, editing and eventually publishing that the public benefits
understanding of the multiple position in one of its better, and less-traumatic
forms. Thank you for reading this work.

Ann's Multiple System
Annemarie
– Annemarie – (birth to age 16) core part keeper of our soul, often depressed
and fantasizes death and suicide, anxious and tense, most responsible for
over-weight, had a good relationship to paternal grandmother, becomes
overwhelmed, sensitive to noise, secretive, easily disappointed, centered on
self and her privacy, likes to sit or lay very still, has abuse nightmares,
slow, has trouble leaving house

for school and travel to Norway, sense of power and purpose, idealist,
adventurer, sprite and relies on Marie, role definer, self-reliant, sense of a
broader humanity, guides our future and ambitions including the writing, loves
to make things by hand, watches over Sarah and Henry

registered for college, writing/some editing, team leader, best mixed of all
the parts together, counselor, early interest in psychology and human
development, will discuss internal parts with Corey, smooth over system
presentation to a public world, finds it easy and fulfilling to take care of
people

Mimi’s Dragon
Excerpt with Concept Tags (Blue)
Wednesday, 2/22/2012 4:56 PM
We figure that we're doing pretty
well. We're sitting here talking to
Linda right now. Just stuff in
general. We're both drinking coffee. We have probably had better ideas, but for
now … couldn't think of a better thing to do with our time than having coffee
with Linda. We haven't seen Linda since before Dr. Marvin's yesterday, I think
- maybe? Did we see her last night? Hmm, just don't remember. {**PTPR-good/bad, **PAFD-Linda, **PACT-talk/speak,
**PACT-drink/eat, **PTPR-better/improve, **PTP-ideas/incubator, **PTP-problem
solve, **PA-DRM, **PTP-question, **PTP-remember/memory/retrieve}
The most exciting thing I could say
right now is that we just finished our second Master’s course final project
paper and it was on time. I am so happy and relieved. I spent most of the time
last week on it, and then we had it reviewed by Dr. Marvin, and then we sat on
it for like two or three days. It finally just needed to get done even though
it's not due until Saturday. Linda seems
to have disappeared. I wonder where she really goes. For all I know, she could
be having a mass orgy over there. But, would she really have one without
inviting me? She's been gone 3 min. now,
and will probably not even realize she was gone after she gets back. That's
okay… Now we have our trustee Dragon to keep us company. {**PF-excite,
**PTP-complete/conclude, **DSM, **DSC-paper, **DSC, **D-project, **TS-time

**PACT-sex, **PACT-invite, **PTPR-okay, **TS-time present **PF-trust, **SMS-Dragon}
We talked to Dr. Marvin last night.
It seemed like everything was going pretty good. We’re giving him a general
rundown on how school was going and home and friendship and all. But then we started thinking about how we are
lost at not being able to keep track of ourselves. The first markers were that we had wanted to
do something on the Internet, and the second marker was it had something to do
again with our writing. It seems like it has been a long time since we've
really written. We know that over the last couple weeks somebody in the system
has been playing with Outlook and OneNote ideas. And sometime in there, we
received our new Microsoft software from Connie Sue, and then last night, we
took out the program and started to think more seriously about it. There wasn't
much time to play with it before bedtime because we were tired, but we knew
that we would wake up again in the morning and go pretty much straight to it. {*PACT-talk/speak, **PA-DRM, **PACT-move/go, **PTPR-good/bad,
**PTP-review/go back to, **DS, **DH, **PAFD, PF-lost,

**DCS-Microsoft, **PAFM-Connie Sue, **D-program, **PTPR-serious/seriously,
**PACT-play/work, **PF-sleepy/tired, **PACT-progress}
So that is where we are today,
except to say with all our heart, we have Dragon and we love him. Dragon is
going to be one of our new best friends. And dragon's name is
"Dragon." It is just so nice that all the time that Linda is typing,
we can just talk and things are getting written at an amazing speed compared to
the old days when we used to write all day in the blog. Using Dragon, we have
some chance of actually being able to record things and write without spending
all the time in the world to do it. For
those who don't know, Dragon is short for Dragon Naturally Speaking, and it is
speech recognition software where you speak and it types fast. And, do you want
to know another thing? With just clicking on the cursor, I can speak in both
the OneNote screen and the Linda Facebook message window on our second screen
at the same time and – it's a pretty good deal. Basically, more parts have the
ability to speak and interact on different platforms at the same time.
Sometimes our minds get restless because of their tendency to think quickly
between them. {**PTP-complete/conclude, **PF-love,
**PTP-explain, **SMS-Dragon, **PACT-move/go, **PTPR-new/old, **PAFD,
**PTPR-nice/sweet, **PAFD-Linda, **PACT-talk/speak, **PACTWE,

**SMS, *PTPR-good/bad, **PTP-skill/ability, **PACT-interact, **DA-platform,
**SMS-mind(s)}
We are thinking poor Linda. She
didn't see that one coming. As well, she was writing about one of her friends
and I inserted something about skipping that topic, which isn't very
interesting to me, and then going over to the topic of the other woman' sex
life. That is much more like my interest. I know bad – bad me. It is just too
much psychological weight has been lifted in finishing the paper, and then
having to talk about something that is less than stellar? {**PF-sympathy,
**PAFD-Linda, **PF-surprise, **PF-restless, **PACT-move/go, **D-area-topic,
**PACT-sex, **PF-interest, **PTPR-good/bad, **PF-burden, **PF-relief,

Anyway … I'm sorry, I don't mean to
be rude. {**PTP-anyway/whatever/so
what/etcetera, **PACT-apologize, **PTP-mean/meant/clarify, **PACT-rude}
We opened the Outlook software first,
and then we looked for something within the software that would connect it to
the OneNote software, because we figured that if we could integrate the two,
then we would have the better program system. And that's what it seems like we
are looking for. We are looking for a new system. We talked to Dr. Marvin and
the problem seems to be – is that were losing too much time during the day. We
don't know who starts one thing, and who ends the next. And, we were talking to
him about not being able to remember what we were saying in our school papers
from the beginning of one paragraph to the end of the same paragraph, and how
much that was affecting us while we were editing our paper. We are figuring
part of it might be being in a multiples’ system, but another part might be
just because of our brain does not have the correct retrieval abilities. {**DCS-Outlook, **PACT-order/sequence,
**PACT-look/see, **DCS-OneNote, **PTP-if/then, **PTPR-better/improve,
*PTP-add/blend/integrate/mix, **D-program, **PTP-systematize,

**DSC-paper, **PACT-affect, **SMS, *SMS-brain, **PTPR-correct/incorrect,
**PTP-skill/ability}
We had better luck finding extra
features on the OneNote software, although we found that they both have a
system where you can press an option and then that option takes you to an add-
in place. In at least one of the additions, it seems as if you can add more
maneuverability between OneNote and Outlook. {**PTP-luck,
**PTPR-better/improve, **PTP-choice/option/feature, **DCS-OneNote,
**PTP-compare/consider/compete, **PACT-search/find/discover, **PTP-systematize,
**PTPR-flexible, **PTP-complete/conclude, **DCS-Outlook}
Linda is gone now. Rich called and
said that he had forgotten, but tonight was Wednesday and we would have to go
out for dinner. Not that going out to
dinner is such a bad thing; it's

Ok,
we’re back that’s pretty much a wrap-up from April. This last part was what we had turned in for
the end of the paper for Strategy. I’m
pretty pleased with the result, but we’re more than happy for the compliments
we got from the professor. She gave us a
lot of confidence in thinking we were going the right direction. Now we’ve got this week to get things back in
order.
This
last couple of days we’ve been following with Rich the problems with his mother
and Bud. Bud is in the hospital and had
to have blood transfusions because he was bleeding internally. Rich spent most of yesterday out with his
mother and Bud, but at one point Bud seemed to have a seizure … Immediately
before that Rich was taking Bud to the hospital, because he had been having
problems falling. But, at that point
Rich called 911 and had him brought in … It’s a mess because Rich’s mother is
not doing well either. We talked to Rich
this morning and he was on his way to the hospital. We will find out more as the day goes on …
We’re hoping for the best. And, that the
problems can be fixed. There’s so many
problems as people grow older … I’m feeling great empathy for Rich’s family … I
also know this is very hard on Rich because he cares so much for his
family. He’s a very domestic type person
and is very hands on with the care and love for his family. All parts of his family. He’s such a terrific person … it makes me
tear up just to think of his capacity for love.
We’re
hoping for the best of the day and that things stabilize. Rich will most likely call me on his way back
from the hospital to return to his mother’s.
We are eager for the updates.
We’re hoping that good things are going to be happening and they get
this thing nipped in the bud.
We
have to regroup and reorganize now and this seems to be a little trouble. One of the things is to write here. We seem to be really behind because there was
so much time with school and just getting by especially with the tiredness and
doing papers. It seems like it’s been a
long time since we just sat down to write.
I miss being here … and even though we could be speaking into the
writing … we seem to need some hands on touch with typing it in from the
keyboard. It seems like we are doing
what we are supposed to be doing even though we haven’t done it for so
long. I think you know what I’m trying
to say right? Just thinking we’re happy
to be here and to be having some time where we aren’t behind in school
work. I would like to spend some time
today catching the house up. We talked
to Ann (Quilting Ann) this morning through FB.
She noticed that we should be bringing something in for show and
tell. I would certainly like to have
finished Jasmine’s quilt so I could show SOMETHING off and because then we
could give it to Linda and she could get the quilting part done. I’m tossed between writing, quilting, and
cleaning up this place … maybe we’ll get to all three today that would be
terrific. Linda stated it correctly that
if we concentrated we could get it done in 2-3 days really good sewing. I ache to get back to it, but feel so behind
in life … it’s a matter of balancing things.
I
think I would have to do some cleaning first, because the areas I would like to
be sewing are so messed up. I was glad
to find my better cutter when I was getting things ready to go fishing with
Rich over the weekend. That means I can
do some cutting from the squares and hopefully Jasmine’s quilt. I’m kinda scared that I’m not going to get
things done. Right now I’m probably
spinning my wheels, but it’s just been so long since we’ve been able to write …
just don’t know what to think … thinking we’re just going to keep writing until
something else more productive seems to be making more sense. We did take our medicine a short while ago. I guess about an hour now. We woke up around 6 am, took our medicine at
7 am and it’s now 8 am. We can do this,
right? Wouldn’t Rich be so pleased if he
came home and things were organized and we were actually doing sewing?
I’m at the point of wondering if I
remember how to sew. It seems that since
Duyen was here we haven’t worked on anything to do with sewing. Just have to get some housework done first, …
Ok we’re going in circle here. First
writing, then cleaning and then sewing.
And , then maybe more writing, hmm?
Hmm,
have we run a full circle again? Hmm,
just got to make some kind of transition here.
How can we start? Maybe we should
look at picking up the living room … that always seems to be a good start,
hmm? Ok, brb.
